Where Christ is leading

I wrote this poem in response to something shared during a Sunday morning message: “following Christ eventually leads to a cross, ultimately leads to a death.”  he who would come after me must…   follow.  Mark 8

-Dan Behrens

Christ in pictures and storytelling:

A window unto the Father

Obedient son

The long arduous descent

God in flesh now among men

Delivered into the hands of divided men

Divided men marching―

marching Him down down

Carried in the hands of us all

These hands of mine and yours

These sick and withered hands

Stretching out like a story

Like a strangely familiar song

Like a path winds off a mountain

Around Around Unknowing Down

Nothing quite so clear as to follow

Into the wood

Into the dark

Into the song of His voice only but a step ahead.
